Study in Cyprus from Nepal

Study in Cyprus from Nepal, in the Republic, where your degree counts.

Cyprus suits students who want a low-cost European degree and can fund it without working. Tuition at Republic of Cyprus universities was €7,000 to €12,000 a year on our shortlists. Degrees from universities in the north (TRNC) are not recognised by the Republic or most of the EU. 92.5% of our 80 Cyprus files were approved in FY 2025/26.

The short version

Cyprus in numbers.

Cyprus offers English-taught European degrees at low tuition, two intakes a year and a mild climate. It's a practical choice when the budget is tight.

Two things decide whether it's the right choice: study in the Republic, not the north, and fund it without part-time work.

The table has the rules; the process puts them in order, with every fee.

Living in Cyprus

Rent, food, work and weather in Cyprus.

Cheaper than most of Europe

We plan on €700 a month for living costs. Limassol costs most; Nicosia and Larnaca less.

Working while you study

Student work is limited to set hours in named sectors, and the rules change. Don't count on it.

  • Budget for your fees and living costs without part-time income.
  • Some courses include paid placements as part of the programme.
  • A Cyprus student permit does not let you work or study in other EU countries.

If you need part-time work to pay rent, Cyprus is the wrong country. We'll show you two that fit better.

Jobs after study

Hospitality, tourism, shipping and accounting are Cyprus's strongest fields. With no post-study work route, most of our graduates return to Nepal or move on to a master's elsewhere.

Daily life

Long hot summers, mild winters and English spoken widely. Life is quieter than in big European cities, and buses between cities are slow; many students live close to campus.

After the visa

Your first weeks in Cyprus.

Your first month

Apply for your temporary residence permit with the university's help, open a bank account and register for health cover.

Your counsellor calls on day 1 and after week 1, with your parents on the same updates.

Study and work, honestly

Plan as if you'll earn nothing, because legally you may earn very little. Keep your permit renewal dates in your calendar.

After graduation

There's no dedicated post-study work route. Most of our graduates return to Nepal with a European degree, or use it for a master's in another country.

We stay with you

The same counsellor stays with you through year 1: permit renewals, a change of programme, or planning your next degree.

Honest fit

Should you choose Cyprus?

Good fit

Choose Cyprus if

  • You want a recognised European degree at low cost.
  • Your family can cover fees and living costs without part-time work.
  • You want a February or September start.

An honest note

Look elsewhere if

  • You've been offered a place in the north (TRNC).
  • You see Cyprus as a way into other EU countries.
  • You need to work to pay your fees.

Check recognition before you check the price. A cheap degree from the north can cost you the master's or job you went for. We only shortlist universities in the Republic of Cyprus.
